Scripting: Network and Internet-savvy application creation is a frequent subject, from the original KeithCD Player for complete CD audio control over local networks to the Remote Controller for sending AppleScripts, URLs and even Unix shell scripts to remote Macs across the Internet.

Programming

It may seem a little unusual, but I find that the logic involved in designing good and innovative software is just as creative as anything else I do.

I've been using software production tools for various tasks for more than one and a half decades, from the early days of HyperCard and fledgling multimedia construction kits to today's desktop and server-side scripting and authoring applications and languages.

I've built software for everything from graphics processing and remote management of client and server computers to complete modular presentation applications and online typeface previewing systems, and I've enjoyed every minute!

Larger applications include Power Presenter, a modular, library-based presentation tool created for design consultancy managers, and the Treacyfaces Typesampler, the world's first fully interactive online font sampler, still in operation after more than half a decade of serving type samples.

And of course there's Wordless, the live wordcount wordprocessor created for professional magazine writers. This has now been retired, but while it was being developed it was in use around the world and provided proof of concept for the same feature now found in Microsoft Word.

There are also countless smaller applications, utilities, games, and creative toys that have been made over the years, both for personal use and for companies and individuals. These include utilities for data conversion and manipulation, dedicated web content updating, office entertainment (from By Jingo to m0re work-oriented productions), and the Art Thief, which creates images froum content it tracks down online.
